Ruwenzori Mountains
Ruwenzori Mountains are one of Africa’s most spectacular mountain landscapes. The range rises dramatically in western Uganda and includes Mount Stanley, whose Margherita Peak reaches 5,109 metres, making it Africa's third-highest peak. The protected mountain environment is characterised by forests, bamboo, giant heathers, Afro-alpine vegetation, lakes, waterfalls and high-altitude landscapes.
